Back Home From Greece

Hello friends! Sorry we hadn't been any better at staying in touch - we've been busy!
Alvine's mother passed away June 13. We traveled home to America for one week, got back to Prague for two days and then left for Greece for a week. We'll be home for just three days and then we're off to see some sites here in the Czech and in Germany.
Our plane left Greece at about 2 pm and we landed right at 6 and our luggage did not come out on the carousel until 7! We got home around 8 and it felt really good to be back in our own place.
We got back from our trip home to America on Thursday the 21st. The trip went very well though the flight across the Atlantic Ocean seems to last forever! (9 and a half hours) Alvine's family seemed okay with their mother's passing. She was such a unique lady and she really loved the Lord and she was so active in her church. There was no doubt that she was in a much better place. Even though it was good to be home - we knew we had to get back to Prague and get ready to go to Greece on the 23rd. Traveling can be much more work than it is pleasurable - especially for Alvine who has to make sure we are all packed up and have clean clothes etc etc.
Found out in Greece from the doctor who came over to help our missies with medical issues that I will need to have my right knee 'scoped' and repaired. This will be done in Budapest Hungary most likely in September. The knee really acted up badly just the day before leaving for Greece. In Greece it acted even worse. At one point I could barely walk. But I am now able to stumble around a bit and hopefully it will hold out until I can get it fixed.
I was privileged to preach this morning at the International Baptist Church of Prague where we are Associate Members. I always love to have that opportunity!
Greece was very unique. It was hot and dry and extremely sunny! We swam in the Mediterranean Sea a couple of times. They did have a beautiful swimming pool but we didn't feel comfortable there - too many people and not enough moderate swim suits. The highest temperature I saw was 43 degrees Celsius though some said it got hotter than that. 43 in Celsius is 109 in Fahrenheit!! That's mighty hot I tell you that! Our conference went very well. We were able to meet many of our missionaries that we knew their names from doing their expense reports but did not know them - now we do!
Thank you so much for praying for us! That means so much to us! I have attached a photo or two for you to peek at.
Take care and God Bless,
Love, In Christ, John & Alvine
